CUPPING THERAPY

What is Cupping Therapy?

Cupping is an ancient therapeutic practice that involves placing cups on the skin to create suction. This suction facilitates healing by promoting blood flow, reducing inflammation, eliminating toxins and encouraging relaxation. The cups, made of glass, are applied to specific areas of the body, often the back. The suction effect is created by heating the air inside the cup before placing it on the skin.

Cupping can leave temporary circular marks on the skin, which are a result of blood being drawn to the surface. The practice is rooted in traditional Chinese medicine but has also been used in various forms in Middle Eastern and Eastern European cultures. We commonly use cupping for muscle pain, tension, and other ailments.
